As a result of the ambitious growth plans, an exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen in our office in Dubai, UAE for a Supply Chain Project Manager.


The purpose of this role is to drive efficiency improvement in supply chain through effective project management and implementation of standard processes. The focus will be to optimise supply and logistics capability which best fits growth plans for the businesses operating in the region. Projects will cover network optimisation, range and product offering, OWC management, specific service level improvement projects, supply chain assessment of new potential geographies and cost optimisation projects.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Adhere’s to and promotes AkzoNobel Code of Conduct at all times.
• Analyses and identifies opportunities to improve end to end supply chain in terms of cost and service
• Formulates, organizes and implements projects and improvement actions to the highest standards ensuring targets on customer service, safety, cost, quality and capital are achieved.
• Establishes targets in agreement with supply chain management with critical steps and process road map to achieve targets.
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of improvement projects and reviews deliverables prepared by relevant project members.
• Applies project and business process improvement methodology and enforces project standards.
• Analyses project profitability, revenue, margins and minimizes exposure and risk on project.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Assists with contract negotiations/re-negotiations in supply chain and logistics.
• Assists in scoping and justification for supply chain investment proposals.
• Be familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct and HSE standards and acting in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will be a degree holder with minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a supply chain and logistics management role and proven background in planning, process optimization & continuous improvement methodologies. Experience in Coatings industry or similar is an advantage. The successful candidate will be ambitious and motivated to succeed on his/her own and have experience working in a multicultural, multi-site and matrix organization structure.  The ability to align strategy with an overall operations vision is essential as is the ability to collect, assess and manage complex and large quantities of data.
