·         Drive understanding of the Consumer Decoration Journey and of Colour.  Understand the role of Colour in the Decision Journey of Professional Customers

     Together with Knowledge and Insights team,

§  Understand the decorative journey framework for the local consumer

§  Understand the factors that can ignite target consumers to start their deco journey, the critical touchpoints, the drivers,  and how we can provide them the best brand experience along

§  Understand key insights around colour, and its role on the consumer deco journey and the decision journey of the professional customers

     Understand the right channel and tone and manner to engage target consumers/customers through Colour


·         Develop and implement the marketing plan/programs on renewal,  and to provide the best and most engaging brand experience across the Consumer Decoration journey.  Develop and implement colour services and tools for Professional Customers

     Develop annual calendar on Colour and renewal, including festive season, Let’s Colour, content, and other pan-region activation programs

     Manage TV sponsorship activities on colour and decoration.  Lead the adaptation and local activation of the Colour of the Year/Colour Futures for both consumers and professionals.  Lead adaptation of global/regional CDJ initiatives, eg, content.

§  Identify and collaborate with the right agency partners

§  Direct the content development and design in accordance with guidelines

§  If using endorsers/spokespeople, select those who have the image and capability to help build Dulux colour leadership and brand image as colour expert/authority

§  Manage the execution to deliver quality and optimum reach; ensure implementation alignment of the content with the Countries and Communications team

§  Evaluate key activities;  identify learning and implement them for further improvement


·         Develop and implement the Colour marketing strategy, aligned with the Marketing Strategy and Plans 

     Identify the latest international color and decoration trends;  make them relevant for the region

     Identify the right Colour offer at each point in the CDJ to engage and lock-in the consumer

§  The colour offer includes content on colour (role in renewal, science, etc.),  decoration and design, latest trends, images of house/room set designs,  tools

     Refresh the colour concepts and colour tools, aligned with global directions, for both Consumer/Retail and Professional.  This includes the following : 

§  Together with the Brand/Category team,  adapt the content befitting the colour concept for the brand/sub-brand.  Adapt the colour palette.  Agree on the form, shape and quantity  of the colour collaterals.  (If targeted towards the Contractors/Painters, involve Customer Marketing in the creation phase.)

§  Collaborate with global team, and the Countries in the roll-out and adaptation of the colour collaterals, new fandecks, and digital colour tools

§  Collaborate with relevant team members in deploying relevant Colour content – with Digital Manager in the digital space,  with Commercial Excellence in the channel and through contractors and painters

     Collaborate with Customer Excellence – particularly In-Store and Point-of-Sale Tinting (POST) - on how colours are presented and showcased in-store including in the tinting machines, and how colour tools are used and optimized,  

     Support the Projects team in building colour leadership through colour collaterals,  services and tools

     Monitor competitive activities relating to Colour;  recommend and lead implementation of needed tactical initiatives

     Help drive reach for our colour offer, in both physical and digital formats and channels

     Monitor KPIs on colour  (reach, brand equity objectives relating to colour, colour delivery  and renewal, cost/reach);  recommend and drive the necessary action plans with the Countries to achieve objectives

§  Recommend and drive improvement on productivity and cost-effectiveness    

§  Manage A&P on Colour. Monitor effectiveness.  Recommend and drive improvement plans.


·         Manage partner agencies

     Determine range of services needed from partner agencies,  and the selection criteria of partner agencies and initiate selection process.

     Ensure proper documentation of services engaged.

     Periodic review and monitoring of service delivery of service provider to ensure optimal cost ratio and service is given by partner agencies.

     Provide inputs in the annual evaluation of partner agenciesthank

     Closely collaborate with the Countries and other functions to drive effectiveness

     Set clear and challenging performance targets that are aligned with the  marketing objectives

     Regularly review performance against targets and initiate improvement plan if necessary.

     Actively build the performance of the Colour Managers (training, on-the-job, coaching) 

     Give input to the Head of Marketing, if any work processes need improvement

Job requirements/Candidate profile

·         Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business (particularly Marketing), Communications, Interior Design or Architecture

·         At least 8 years marketing experience with 3 of those years at a manager level

·         Solid experience in consumer activation or relationship marketing or direct marketing preferably in consumer goods company or reputable creative or media agency

·         Have sound knowledge and passion towards decoration and colour

·         Regional experience preferred;  knowledge of paints industry preferred
