I. Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job
1. Processes – Build line management understanding of safety processes (50%)
2. Capability: Leverage HSE expertise to support own unit and others (20%)
3. Delivery: Guide line management to deliver HSE policy, set the culture and manage hazards (10%)
4. Improvement: Act as a role model for compliance and commitment (10%)
5. Strategy: Contribute to the HSE strategy beyond own unit (10%)

II. Responsibilities
1. Processes – Build line management understanding of safety processes (50%)
Tasks: Be an influential advisor to line management by building and fostering a deep understanding of the theoretical concepts, industry standards and best practices in one or more AkzoNobel safety Core Processes (people/process safety) and/or sub-processes (for example: behavior based safety, industrial hygiene, hazard study, asset integrity, environmental management and distribution safety) as they are relevant to Amata site.
Results: Safety process knowledge of Wood Coatings and management meets company expectation

2. Capability: Maintenance of a thorough knowledge of all HSE&S systems and requirements for Amata Site/ Offsite technician (20%). 
Tasks: Participating in conducting training for critical HSE&S procedures and validation for understanding. Actively promoting the sharing of learning across organization. Developing annual training plan based on the training needs and coordinating with HR to implement it. Be an effective coach for the Wood Coatings VN by leveraging and extending its HSE knowledge through personal participation in AkzoNobel expert pools for delivery of the Safety Common Platform, HSE Faculty learning programs, auditing and/or incident investigation and/or through training activities within the AkzoNobel/ Wood Coatings as well as through personal functional development.
Results: HSE capability of Wood Coatings Vietnam management meets company expectation

3. Delivery: Guide line management to deliver HSE policy, set the culture and manage hazards (10%)
Tasks: Guide line management to develop and ensure implementation of HSE policies, plans and practices for Amata site in line with the AkzoNobel HSE Policy, Directives, Rules & Procedures (HSE Procedures) and in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements; together with and in support of line management, set the safety culture and manage hazards. Revise HSE&S procedures to meet corporate requirement and submit for approval. Identify high risk activities in Amata Site/ Offsite, reviewing control measure to the risk at acceptable level and monitoring control measure implementation. Lead all incident investigation which happened at the factory/ customer sites where offsite technician working in, follow the proposed corrective action and assure the quality of implementation taken.
Results: Established HSE management system 

4. Improvement: Act as a role model for compliance and commitment (10%)
Tasks: Spend time engaging with employees and act as a role model for ensuring compliance with and commitment to the AkzoNobel HSE Policy, Directives, Rules & Procedures, including its risk tolerance criteria.
Results: Progress towards leading level of HSE maturity

5. Strategy: Contribute to the HSE strategy beyond own unit (10%)
Tasks: Contribute to the development of the HSE strategy for design, deployment and delivery of the AkzoNobel HSE Policy, Directives, Rules & Procedures and Safety Common Platform for the entity at the next higher level, in order to ensure alignment of objectives and performance of Amata site.
Results: Alignment of strategy with next higher level

Bachelor or  masters level qualification in HSE or engineering or related discipline

Management/general skills:
1. Strong strategic and conceptual skills with ability to execute and follow through;
2. Positive influencing: ability to convince others, gain agreement or acceptance of plans, activities and ability to move others willingly towards a desired goal or course of action;
3. Ability to drive continuous improvement of the processes, policies, standards;
4. Able to work in an inclusive way in the HSE community to make sure the business experiences ‘one voice’ and the teams collective objectives are met;
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation, problem solving, project management, business acumen;
6. Very good verbal and written English language skills;
7. Relevant experience in different multiple units, disciplines, locations and/or other companies;

Functional skills:
Specialized knowledge of the AkzoNobel HSE functional role and HSE management systems and programs, as well as external benchmarks.
