Lead the Purchasing Team in managing and implementing company purchasing policy, processes and activities and to ensure purchases are competitive in term of price, quality and services, along with AkzoNobel’s sustainability imperatives

  • Responsible for supporting and delivering all related purchasing requirements (both PR and NPR purchases) by Country and BU Office.

  • Responsible for delivering satisfactory suppliers’ OTIF performance and security of supply of purchases and materials.

  • Responsible for delivering suppliers’ compliance to HSE&S and Quality standards.

  • Responsible to deliver identified and agreed value creation plans and projects.

  • Responsible for department budget and ensure the expenses are within budget.

  • To work with internal control and legal functions on effective contract management with all suppliers, contractors, transporters, etc.

  • To establish successful relationships with internal functions like sales, marketing, RD&I, finance; external government agencies such as Custom; suppliers and vendors on a country and regional basis to ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled.

  • To motivate and develop committed staff to ensure sustained ability to meet current and future business needs

Job requirements/Candidate profile

  • 8 years working experience in
    Purchasing, Sourcing, Supply Chain, or in the related field, preferably with 4
    working experience in chemical industry.

  • Technical purchase experience is
    a distinguish advantage.

  • High degree of commercial
    awareness and good business acumen.

  • Good interpersonal skills with
    strong analytical & negotiation skills.

  • Positive, responsible and
    committed to works assigned.

  • Good command of English.

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office
    & SAP

  • Malaysian only
