Technical Support Manager, managing a small team of chemists and senior chemist (as appropriate), is
accountable for implementation of technical standards as per group guidelines / directives, implantation of
improvement plans, managing P&DDs, identification of training needs, representation in S&OP meeting, coordinate audits with central labs and external agencies, day to day activities of development work, value
engineering and HSE&S aspects, ISO documentation, introduction / domestication of new products in to the
factory, formulation maintenance, batch card authorization, customer complaint investigations, reduction of
SLOB stocks in his/ her area or responsibility, so that product is in compliance in all respects customers would
receive the product / service to the agreed specification.

Main tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the safety standards in the area of responsibility are met and maintained
  • Ensure technical standards are met and maintained for all products
  • Ensure all the ISO documentation is in place and maintained for all the activities in the area of
  • Laboratory equipment compliance to the standards
  • Ensure all formulations are up to date
  • Authorisation of batch cards
  • Attend S&OP meetings
  • Prepare re work plans for slow moving raw materials in finished goods
  • Track SLOB material movement on monthly basis
  • Develop new products formulations as per the end user’s request
  • Modification of formulation
  • Raw material evaluation, Formulation optimization and Process optimization

Job requirements/Candidate profile


The ideal candidate will have a degree/diploma in paint technology or post graduate / graduate in a scientific
discipline, preferably chemistry. Minimum 5 years of total experience in the specific area (Coil/ packaging/ M&PC etc) with minimum one year laboratory management experience. Sound technical knowledge in various coating systems related to the specific area of responsibility. Good understanding on various coating application
techniques and end user line conditions. Colour matching skills would be an added advantage.
