Perform the highest levels of vendor management in order to create an optimized IM environment based on close collaboration and continuous improvement

Central to our success is a Center of Expertise (CoE) for Contract and Vendor Management. IM Services for the CoE are provided by our Global Business Services (GBS) Operations, and are largely dependent on the performance of, and cooperation with, the selected strategic partners.
Within this context, your mission in this role is to manage strategic IM suppliers for the CoE Contract and Vendor Management, and the contracts related to sourced services. Thus you manage, monitor and execute the obligations and rights of contracts with vendors by negotiation, contract management and vendor management in order to achieve an optimal quality of service ratio in IM services deliverables.

IM Contract & Vendor Manager
The role and its responsibilities
This role is based at our office either in Arnhem or Amsterdam, the Netherlands. From here you perform a wide range of tasks:
Supplier Contract Management
You manage the contractual relationship with supplier(s) on multiple levels, resolving escalations and communicating with Service Delivery Managers. Global Process Owners and directly with GBS clients. This requires you assist in developing, implementing, owning and maintaining the GBS Vendor Ecosystem, engaging with and reconciling various interests at the level of large GBS, BUI/BA and local/regional stakeholders.
At all times you work with suppliers to identify new opportunities to optimize services, and you communicate the outcome of analysis to service stakeholders within the GBS GPO team.
Further, along with IT Category Buyers you develop and own the Supplier Engagement model, facilitating the governance and meeting structure as per the IM Operating Model.
You manage the strategic contracts with vendors and drive maximum value as defined within the contract. You also facilitate an effective supplier governance structure and develop and implement contract management processes with the Supplier, including Dispute Resolution, Change Management, Issue Management and Billing & Invoicing.
In doing so you resolve disputes and settle problems or complaints, proactively mitigating contract risks and using an Early Warning System to ensure contract success based on clearly defined criteria.
Further, you ensure KPI compliance, monitor supplier progress and performance, and define, together with the GBS GPO IM, key KPIs. You also develop, maintain and provide Account development plans per vendor and support projects to identify and deliver performance improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
Alignment with key stakeholders in other departments
You participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of the IM Sourcing Strategy, working with the IT Category Buyers to ensure the Sourcing calendar remains aligned with daily operations within GBS and IM. In doing so you define materials and services needs and ensure the drafting of proper specification.
Further, you perform cost control benchmarking in collaboration with IT Control Management and work closely with the domain managers on performance of the delivered services by the supplier/vendor. You also work with Finance to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements.
As such, this is a stimulating opportunity to act as a key part of the full, end-to-end service chain as you proactively contribute to the operational integrity of GBS operations globally through continuous improvement and operational excellence.
It is also a role for candidates with knowledge of the manufacturing/process industry and an understanding of financial reporting and analysis.

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Master’s degree in an area such as Business Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering;
- At least 10 to 12 years of experience in the IT sector including 4 years in supplier/contract management role either at customer side or as e.g. Sourcing Advisor;
- Able to quickly gain a deep understanding of the AkzoNobel IM strategy and maintain a helicopter view of IM activities while focusing on the details;
- The knowledge of source-2-pay processes necessary to maintain effective cooperation with Procurement, Legal and Finance;
- Experience with Contract and Vendor management tools (e.g. ServiceNow);
- Strong interpersonal, reporting and presentational skills including fluent written and spoken English.
