You have a good understanding of HSE in a laboratory environment having had experience of working in a busy lab environment. Now you are looking to develop your career further.   This Laboratory Facilitator role with AkzoNobel is the opportunity you are looking for. A world class business, we will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. Join us and you will supervise and maintain our Felling Powder laboratories and facilities.
 
As Laboratory Facilitator you will offer general assistance to the RD&I teams by providing process support, maintaining equipment and buildings, and carrying out general laboratory housekeeping. This will involve ensuring building upkeep is undertaken when scheduled, equipment is properly calibrated and that QHSE standards are maintained. You will create and administer a laboratory audit schedule as well as ensure external contractors and staff working within laboratory are authorised and fully conversant with HSE requirements. You will also oversee waste disposal, monitor expenditure and make sure activities comply with internal and external policies, procedures and standards.
 
You must have sound knowledge of HSE issues within a laboratory environment and an awareness of hazards associated with handling chemicals in a laboratory. You will have experience of maintenance requirements within a laboratory setting as well as of 5S. A NEBOSH qualification is desirable. Able to influence team members to promote good working practices you will also have an eye for detail and strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will work well as part of a team too.
