Key Objective:
The Technical Application Specialist provides professional delivery of expert technical support and expert level training to internal and external customers. In addition to providing technical support and training on the use and application of products, services, equipment. 


Responsibilities:
- New customer and/or product launches
- Hands-on role for customer interface and work in the laboratory (duplicating customer application processes in a laboratory setting)
- Troubleshooting field issues and complaints with local/site technical service representatives
- Aides in the development of training tools, programs
- Works with customers to identify improvement areas for cost savings, First Time Quality (FTQ) improvements
- Regularly monitors and communicates to the field force the latest news regarding technical bulletins and developments, including standards and best practices
- Informs technical and sales departments on information gathered regarding changes in legislation

Job requirements/Candidate profile

- Bachelor's / Technical Degree preferred; Ideal Engineering or Technical field of study
- 7-10 years experience in coatings applications
- Application equipment experience: capable of operating and training laboratory automated equipment; familiar/competent on supporting/troubleshooting automatic spray guns and bells.  Expected extensive experience with electrostatic gun and bell applications
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Possesses an aptitude for problem solving and a drive for continuous improvement
- Travel expectations up to 50-75%; primarily domestic travel but could include international travel
