An involving role for a skilled and ambitious professional who can provide the highest standards of financial analysis and insight
Applying the highest standards of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) across our organization is essential if AkzoNobel is to retain its status as global leader in its field. To this end, we are currently advancing FP&A as a discipline so that it is positioned to have a real influence on our business success going forward.
Within this context, your mission in this role is to be a central part of this effort, establishing new ways of working from the ground up and driving the expert financial management of our Global Direct & Indirect Spend. You will require advanced communication skills as you interact with multiple stakeholders and make a real impact by providing new levels of analysis to the Procurement organization.
As such, this is a position for candidates with the ambition to develop into an all-round Finance professional at AkzoNobel. It also demands the ability to work in an accurate and disciplined manner in order to achieve high quality output and meet strict deadlines.
Is this a challenge that matches your profile as a proactive team player with powerful analytical skills and the ability to organize, summarize and articulate complex financial information for decision making? Do you have the drive to ‘get things done’ in an environment where you may at times meet resistance to new ways of working? Can you make independent interpretation, draw conclusions and propose solutions? Above all, can you make a real difference within our dynamic, multinational and multicultural business environment?
If you offer all this and more we invite you to apply for the role of
FP&A Analyst Procurement (two vacancies)
The role and its responsibilities
These positions are based at the AkzoNobel Center in Amsterdam and you will become the FP&A go-to person for one of AkzoNobel’s business areas: one for Paints, the other for Coatings. Both positions require you to combine an affinity for numbers and systems with a critical, but constructive, approach.
- Your core task is to support the Head of FP&A Procurement by:

- Developing financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and recognition of the price variation drivers;
- Reporting for productivity, improvement initiatives and global processes such as planning and budgeting.
At all times you work closely with the Procurement Finance Business Partner (PR &NPR) to increase the visibility of the drivers of the prices change and highlight risks and opportunities for savings. You also support the continued development of the QRF and other planning and forecasting processes, in particular the Variable Material Cost forecasting process. In doing so you consolidate inputs from the procurement teams and navigators for submission of QRF and Budget into the required platforms.
- Other tasks include:
Deck preparation for business reviews and other meetings as needed;
- Preparing the monthly reporting package and analysis on performance including volume/mix/rate and cause of change analysis;
- Preparing key messages, insights and bridges for leadership reviews.
