To support our Decorative Paints Commercial Teams Akzo Nobel Service GmbH is searching for a

Sales Controller Deco DACH (m/w/d)

based in Cologne.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Act as a recognized Commercial Business Partner with overall responsibility for the Country Profit and Loss and Operating Cash Flow delivery towards the Sales / Country Director and Management team

  • Develop and deliver relevant financial analyses that enables and drives business and financial objectives to play against competition to win and support complexity reduction

  • Translate 5 years strategies into regional operating plan and formulate a winning strategy that meets profitability and Operating Cash Flow

  • Support the DACH MSU Controller in local implementation of regional projects and initiatives

  • Validate and challenge business cases, such as M&A activities in close cooperation with different departments inside and outside of the MSU (e.g. sales, marketing, account, etc.)

  • Actively challenge Pricing/Revenue Management and lead cost control initiatives in order to improve margin regarding costs and market position

  • Ensure that adequate controls are in place and drive monthly performance against target and strategy

  • Statutory & Compliance role

  • Work together with Financial Planning / Reporting in different countries

Job requirements/Candidate profile

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, business administration or equivalent, Master’s degree or CMA, CIMA or MBA would be a plus

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position

  • Gained experience e.g. in a Paints & Coatings, Trading, Retail or building supplier company would be a plus

  • High level of customer orientation

  • Strong, effective communication skills

  • Hands-on and can-do mentality

  • Analytical, strategic and problem-solving, pragmatic and pro-active attitude

  • Independent and interested in what’s behind the numbers

  • Open for Change Management

  • Excellent skills MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • High proficiency in SAP (or another ERP-System)

  • Fluent verbal and written skills in German and English, Additional experience in French would be a plus
