Akcros Shows Its Class

Akcros Chemicals’ manufacturing sites in the United States and the United Kingdom have earned world class status.

Both facilities, at New Brunswick in New Jersey, USA, and Eccles in Manchester, UK, have achieved prestigious ISO14001 recognition for environmental management systems. Only 636 companies in the U.S. and 1,492 in the UK hold ISO 14001 registration.

"We are delighted that our U.S. and UK sites have achieved the world class standard for environmental management systems,” said Akcros managing director, Kees van Nierop.

The two facilities employ 430 people and produce a range of key additives for the PVC manufacturing industry.

"All our stakeholder groups—customers, employees, local people and others—benefit from higher environmental standards, which have been audited by an independent third party organization,” added Van Nierop.

"Registration to ISO14001 is a practical demonstration of our commitment to managing our manufacturing operations in a way which minimizes their impact on the local environment.

“It is also a measure of our determination to achieve continuous improvements in our environmental performance.”

Akcros Chemicals, a business unit of Akzo Nobel, is one of the world leaders in the field of additives for the processing and manufacturing of plastics.
