Two of Akzo Nobel’s Pharma businesses are sponsoring a South American tour of some of Rembrandt’s prized etchings.
Intervet and Organon are among a number of major sponsors supporting an exhibition of 84 of the famous Dutch Master’s engravings, part of a collection of 400 belonging to the Rembrandt Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The etchings are currently on show in Colombia for the first time, where they will tour a number of museums before the exhibition moves on to Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil.
Born in 1609, Rembrandt’s paintings are among the most famous in the world and are highly sought after. One of his masterpieces, Portrait of a Lady, sold for almost GBP 20 million (EUR 31 million) at auction in 2000.
