Car Refinishes Launch Mason CT Brand

Akzo Nobel's Car Refinishes business has officially launched a new coatings brand onto the commercial vehicles market.

The new Mason CT international coatings brand for the commercial vehicle market has been officially launched by Akzo Nobel’s Car Refinishes business.

Acquired by Car Refinishes UK 18 months ago when it purchased the transport activities of Mason Coatings, Mason CT will sit alongside the Sikkens Autocoat BT brand, enabling Car Refinishes to become a full-line supplier to the massive commercial vehicle market.

The Mason CT brand has been developed to meet the needs of commercial vehicle operators requiring superior quality and excellent value for money. The brand will not only be sold directly to end-users, but also through authorized distributors.

"The launch has taken an enormous effort from all sides of the organization," explained Lex van Berk, CV Manager for Car Refinishes Europe West. "Our technical people have made the entire range much simpler and more compact, while still retaining the quality of the original brand."

“Production has been transferred from the UK to Finland and the Netherlands and a new brand image, simplified labeling system and communication campaign have been developed. All of the color information has also been documented and added to our color IT systems."

The 200-year-old Mason CT brand is already very well established in the UK, where it has a Royal Warrant. Launches are now taking place in Europe West, Europe East and parts of the Middle East.
