Chemicals On the Right Track

A leading IT website has listed Akzo Nobel's Chemicals business in the U.S. as one of the country's top e-business innovators.

Akzo Nobel’s Chemicals business in the U.S. has made the top 40 in an online ranking of top e-business innovators.

The eWEEK website publishes the list—known as the FastTrack 500—every year and the recently published table for 2001 sees Akzo Nobel commendably placed at number 36—the only chemical producer to feature in the top 50.

Available on the website, the list recognizes companies that have solidified relationships with key customers and suppliers by innovating with new business processes and Internet-based technologies.

The site goes on to say that the organizations featured have “consistently demonstrated a willingness to deploy cutting-edge information technologies in every phase of their operations.”

The listing comes just months after Akzo Nobel’s Base Chemicals business in the Netherlands launched BUY-CEPS, the new company-wide e-procurement initiative.
