Fund Makes Double Donation

Two more beneficiaries of a charity fund run by Akzo Nobel’s Plastics and Processing Additives business, Akcros Chemicals, have been announced.

Based in Eccles near Manchester, UK, Akcros has operated the Eccles Employee Charity Fund for a number of years. It uses regular monthly donations from employees to help out various organizations, such as local schools, hospitals and community centers.

The latest presentations were made to nearby Hope Hospital and the Eccles Under 12 rugby league team. The hospital received a GBP 3,800 monitor which is used to check carbon dioxide levels in a patient’s bloodstream, while the rugby team was presented with a new set of tracksuits worth GBP 600.

Said chairman of the charity committee, Steve White: “We are delighted to support both organizations and make these donations to such worthwhile causes.”

So far this year, the fund has presented equipment worth more than GBP 13,000.
