Helping the Hungry

Akzo Nobel is one of the sponsors of a major charity event which helps to feed thousands of hungry and homeless Americans.

The 16th annual Hunger Walk, being staged in Cook County, Chicago, benefits the member agencies of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, including soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters.

Every month, up to 300,000 people in the region rely on food provided by the depository, which expects to distribute more than 34 million pounds of food this year–enough for 67,000 meals a day.

The event is being held on June 23 and all walkers or families are being encouraged to raise a minimum of USD 50 in pledges.
