Akzo Nobel’s Car Refinishes North America business has received approval from the Ford Motor Company for its Lesonal® brand paint system.
The approval extends to Ford’s collision repair centers—as well as collision repair centers doing work on Ford products—in the United States, Canada and Mexico, for both National Rule and VOC regulated areas.
Over the last 12 to 14 months, Akzo Nobel has conducted extensive testing based on the company’s own requirements and the high standards of Ford Motor Company.
“We created the Lesonal line to be known as one of uncommon reliability,” said director of marketing for Akzo Nobel Coatings Inc. in North America, Tim Loden.
“The testing requirements of Ford Motor Company are recognized as being some of the most exacting in the industry. This approval validates our efforts and the standards that Akzo Nobel sets for the Lesonal brand.”
Refinish paint technical expert, John R. Hughes, of the Ford Body and Paint Technical Center, reviewed and verified the test findings.
“We hold our collision repair personnel to high standards,” he said. “They must be confident that the products they are using will work the first time and every time.
“The performance seen in the Lesonal brand will afford our paint technicians the reliability that they need to meet the expectations that Ford establishes for their customers.”
