Security Inks Sold

Akzo Nobel Inks has sold its Security Ink product group for an undisclosed sum.

The deal, with Gleitsmann Security Inks, involves the sale of one of Akzo Nobel’s smaller business segments, which specializes in printing inks for bank notes and postage stamps.

Gleitsmann has a modern factory in Berlin, Germany, dedicated to the development, production, marketing and sales of Intaglio inks. Akzo Nobel felt that its business concern would receive more suitable attention if it was part of such a specialized security ink company.

The divestment will now enable Akzo Nobel Inks to focus more on its key segments, such as the Narrow Web market, where the company is the worldwide leader.
