Akzo Nobel and Tax Authorities Reach Agreement

Akzo Nobel and tax authorities in several countries have reached an agreement on transfer pricing issues related to the company’s corporate income tax filings covering a period of almost ten years.

Arnhem, the Netherlands, July 7, 2006 — Akzo Nobel and tax authorities in several countries have reached an agreement on transfer pricing issues related to the company’s corporate income tax filings covering a period of almost ten years.

Akzo Nobel will record a one-time tax benefit of around EUR 125 million in the company's financial statements for the second quarter of 2006.
