Akzo Nobel Share Buyback Program Completed (Week 35)

PRESS RELEASE: Akzo Nobel has announced that, in line with the launch of its EUR 1.6 billion share buyback program on May 3, 2007, the company has repurchased 2,529,433 common shares in the period August 27 until August 31, 2007.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, September 3, 2007 — Akzo Nobel (Euronext Amsterdam: AKZ; Nasdaq: AKZOY) has announced that, in line with the launch of its EUR 1.6 billion share buyback program on May 3, 2007, the company has repurchased 2,529,433 common shares in the period August 27 until August 31, 2007.

were repurchased at an average price of EUR 56.29 for a total amount of EUR 142.4 million.

total number of shares repurchased under this program is 26,736,674 common shares, or 9.25 % of the outstanding capital as of the end of June 2007. Shares were repurchased at an average price of EUR 59.84 for a total amount of EUR 1.6 billion.
