AkzoNobel and Givaudan win food industry innovation award with OneGrain

A low sodium mineral salt product jointly developed by AkzoNobel and flavor experts Givaudan recently won a leading industry innovation award at the annual Global Food Technology & Innovation Summit in London.

The 2015 Future Ingredients Showcase Award was presented to OneGrain TS M100 for processed meats, part of a range of innovative OneGrain mineral salts which uses less sodium without compromising on quality or taste.

"We are very proud to have received this award, which recognizes the vision of both partners to create a winning solution for the food industry, where there is an increasing demand for healthier products," said AkzoNobel Business Development Manager, Matthijs Bults.

"OneGrain TS M100 has proven itself over the last two years. It is being widely used by industrial and multinational food producers, as well as authentic artisanal producers, to reduce sodium in their products, while retaining quality and great taste."

A true one-to-one replacement for regular salt, OneGrain contains the optimal balance of mineral salt and flavor, while significantly reducing the amount of sodium. It's used by the food industry in products such as bread, processed meat, snacks, cheese, soups and ready meals.

This year was the 13th staging of the Global Food Technology & Innovation Summit, which attracts leaders in food innovation, R&D, marketing and branding from the world’s leading consumer food and beverage companies.
