Breatheasy Campaign Wins Award

An advertising campaign for one of Akzo Nobel's Crown paint ranges has won a leading award in the UK.

The campaign to promote one of Akzo Nobel’s Crown paint ranges has won a prestigious UK advertising prize—its third award in the last two years.

Manchester-based agency BDH/TBWA scooped the main Grand Prix honor at the recent 2003 AREA Awards—organized by the Institute of Practitioners In Advertising (IPA)—for the promotion of the Crown brand’s Breatheasy® range.

The award scheme recognizes the effectiveness of individual advertising campaigns and the top prize went to the Manchester agency for successfully communicating the benefits of Crown’s Breatheasy virtually odor-free paint.

The honor follows on from two earlier awards triumphs for the promotion of Breatheasy, one being received earlier this year and the other in 2001.

The entries for the IPA prize were judged by an expert panel of ten leading representatives from both client companies and agencies, led by chairman David Magliano, director of marketing for the London Olympic bid.
