Intervet, Akzo Nobel’s animal healthcare business, has decided to scrap the sending out of company Christmas cards in favor of making an annual charitable donation.

decision was made last year, but is being implemented for the first time this December, when the first recipient of the NLG 10,000 (EUR 4,500) award will be the Brooke Hospital For Animals.

Brooke Hospital is active in Egypt, India, Jordan and Pakistan, where it provides more than 500,000 free veterinary treatments every year to working horses, donkeys and mules.

up 66 years ago, its purpose is to improve equine welfare by offering veterinary care to animals of owners who are unable to pay for such services themselves.
