A luxury cruise liner has completed its maiden voyage after being coated with Akzo Nobel products.

The latest luxury vessel in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet has made her maiden voyage after being coated by Akzo Nobel.

Norwegian Sun—a 77,000 ton ship which offers guests the same amenities as a five star land-based resort—was built by Lloyd Werfft in Germany, where it was fully coated with International® protective coatings.

A variety of high performance products were used on the vessel, including Intersleek 700, Intershield 300, Intersleek 737 and Intersleek 757.

The ship, which was purpose-built for freestyle cruising, has nine restaurants, a casino, an internet café, two large pools and can accommodate a maximum of 2,400 guests, with 800 crew.

Following its maiden voyage on September 10, the liner is currently cruising off the coast of Canada and New England.
