The New Face of Furniture

A new decorative application has been developed by Akzo Nobel which allows designs and logos to be placed onto furniture with photographic results.

A new cost effective printing application has been developed by Akzo Nobel which allows photographs, designs and logos to be placed onto furniture.

Tacon decor®, developed by a Spanish subsidiary of Akzo Nobel’s Industrial Products business (trading under the name Casco Products), is a new application for serigraphy on polyester laminate which gives photographic results.

Up until now, the serigraphy printing technique has involved very high fixed costs and very limited quality, but Tacon decor has an excellent finish and costs much less than the traditional process.

The product has limitless applications in decoration, furniture, doors, bedrooms, panels and so on and combines the visual effects of serigraphy with the properties of polyester laminate.

It also offers companies the opportunity to personalize products with their own logos and designs.

Tacon décor—which was developed by Laminados Iberia—went on show recently at the Maderalia trade fair, which was held in Valencia, Spain.
