Organon Supports Chilean Project

Organon was one of the three main sponsors of a project which has donated an ambulance and school bus to a home in Chile which provides care for children living with HIV/AIDS.

Organon was one of the three main sponsors of a project which has donated an ambulance and school bus to a home in Chile which provides care for children living with HIV/AIDS.

Along with two other leading Dutch companies operating in the South American country—ABN Amro and Shell—Organon was one of the main supporters of the initiative, which was organized in aid the Casa de Acogida Santa Clara.

The official presentation ceremony was held recently at the residence of the Dutch Ambassador to Chile, Hinkinus Nijenhuis, where the First Lady of Chile, Luisa Durán de Lagos, handed over the two vehicles to the home’s Sister Isabel Lillo.

Organon became involved in 2003, when Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands visited the Casa de Acogida Santa Clara, an occasion which also prompted the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Chile to offer its support.

A number of smaller donors have also made contributions to the project.
