Unique Partnership Program

Akzo Nobel is aiding the Philippines government’s bid to solve its serious unemployment problem by helping to improve standards and skill levels within the car repair industry.

Lezochem, the sole distributor of Akzo Nobel’s Lesonal car refinish brand in the Philippines, has signed a unique partnership agreement with six Philippine government agencies and the Don Bosco Technical Institute, a leading private technical school.

Under the new agreement, Lezochem will provide training, upgrade car refinishing standards and develop new employment opportunities for displaced sprayers, particularly returning Filipino overseas workers.

This will help car repair workers from across the country to upgrade their technical know-how and improve their skill levels, so enhancing their employment propsects.

The first batch of graduates was named the Gloria Macapagal Arroyo Batch, to highlight the commitment of both Akzo Nobel and Lezochem Philippines Inc to helping the new president in her quest to address the country’s unemployment problems.

The government private partnership program was developed under the leadership of Atty. Arthur Yap, president of Lezochem Philippines, and Mr Carlo Quevada, vice-president of marketing and sales.
