TMAl SOLAR for solar cells
Under the name of TMAL SOLAR we offer a product grade specifically aimed to serve the needs of the solar cell industry. TMAl SOLAR is used by solar cell manufacturers to create an aluminum oxide passivation layer to increase efficiency of solar cells. TMAl SOLAR has proven performance in ALD and PECVD processes used in the solar industry. It offers a cost-effective alternative to the ultra-pure trimethylaluminum used in the semiconductor industry. Not to forget its superior performance over industrial grade TMAl used in the plastics industry. Dimethylaluminum is stable when stored under a dry, inert atmosphere and away from heat. The product may undergo violent exothermic decomposition with gas evolution at elevated temperatures.
Packaging and transport
Containers are fabricated from stainless steel with an electropolished internal finish and are equipped with dip tube for top discharge and diaphragm valves. The diaphragm valves are equipped with metal gasket face seal connections such as Swagelock® VCR®.
Safety and handling
Trimethylaluminum ignites upon exposure to air and reacts violently with water. Water must be scrupulously removed from process equipment prior to putting it into metal alkyls service. Failure to do so may result in an explosion. If heated above 70°C (248°F), trimethylaluminum will undergo exothermic decomposition with evolution of flammable gas. Products of complete combustion of trimethylaluminum are aluminum oxide, carbon dioxide and water. Trimethylaluminumc causes severe burns to the skin and eyes. It is imperative that proper personal protective equipment be worn when handling trimethylaluminum.
