Good governance comes from our parent company, Akzo Nobel N.V. and filters through its subsidiary Boards and business units to ensure the right controls, information and decision-making is in place to drive strategy and deliver long-term shareholder value.  UK group companies follow the internal governance set by the ultimate parent company, Akzo Nobel N.V. based on their adherence to the Dutch Civil Code and the Dutch Corporate Governance Code as well as following all applicable UK laws and regulations.

The UK group is currently developing a framework for subsidiary governance based upon the Wates Principles.
