Chairman Hans Wijers is in Vietnam to officially open the company’s new decorative coatings plant near Ho Chi Minh City.
Constructed in just seven months, the new factory—which was commissioned after the previous operation outgrew its old facility—is located on a 40,000 square meter greenfield site at the AMATA Industrial Park in Dong Nai province.
Run by the company’s Decorative Coatings International (DCI) business, the new plant will help to boost Akzo Nobel’s market share in Vietnam in line with the BU’s expansion targets for the Asia Pacific region.
After conducting today’s ceremony in Vietnam, Wijers will move on to China, where he will be officially opening another coatings facility later this week.
