Sikkens Product Clinches Peugeot Citroën Approval

An advanced basecoat system developed by Akzo Nobel's Car Refinishes business has been awarded worldwide technical approval by Europe's second largest manufacturer of Peugeot Citroën vehicles.

Europe’s second largest manufacturer of Peugeot Citroën vehicles, PSA, has awarded worldwide technical approval to Sikkens Autobase® Plus, the advanced basecoat system developed by Akzo Nobel’s Car Refinishes business.

Theapproval, which was the result of a joint effort between Car Refinishes France and the business unit’s laboratories in Sassenheim, the Netherlands, provides further evidence of the quality of the new generation product, which was launched last year.

“Peugeot Citroën is very strict in offering approvals, they test each product very carefully and only award approval to products that meet their exact specifications,” said Dimitris Mihas, AAM Manager Europe West.

“Winning this approval not only makes it easier to penetrate the Peugeot dealer network, but also helps strengthen our relationship with the company and confirms that our products and services are of a very high standard.”

Autobase Plus is a solventborne basecoat system which has the ability to self-correct application errors and can help set new levels in bodyshop profitability.
