Besides the Sikkens product range, Akzo Nobel is also offering consultancy and training to SEAT dealers through the Sikkens brand.
The agreement—which is based on the need for SEAT to further develop its dealer bodyshop network for the automotive after market—includes a program to improve the profitability of the SEAT network.
Akzo Nobel offers a tailor-made package of services which focuses on the profitability of the entire bodyshop, not just the paint shop. Although SEAT already has agreements with Sikkens in some countries, such as Spain, this is the first pan-European agreement.
In a letter, SEAT stated: "We will encourage all countries to set up local improvement programs in cooperation with Akzo Nobel."
Angel Valero, responsible for SEAT's service and marketing organization, commented: "We are pleased to be working with Akzo Nobel on a Pan-European level. We needed a global partner who could provide a high level of service to support all of our importers in Europe.
“We feel that Akzo Nobel is a partner that really cares for Seat's needs rather than just trying to sell its Sikkens products."
Dimitris Mihas, Automotive Aftermarket Manager for Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes added: "We are delighted that SEAT emphasizes the value Sikkens can bring through our extensive service programs and innovative products. We are adding value to our customers by training them in profitability programs for the entire bodyshop."
