Company Receives Arts Honor

Akzo Nobel has received an award for the generous support it gives to the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Akzo Nobel has received an award from the National Arts Council of Singapore for the generous support it gives to one of Asia’s most critically acclaimed ensembles—the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO).

Every year, Singapore hands out honors to corporate and individual sponsors in recognition of the support they give to the arts on the island state. This year, the company was one of the sponsors to receive the Arts Supporter Award.

According to the manager of the SSO, Akzo Nobel’s financial supportthrough its Akzo Nobel For Young Talent programhas made it possible for the orchestra to put on regular and exciting programs, including popular outreach concerts in local communities in Singapore.

Ans Pot, Advertising and Sponsoring Manager at Akzo Nobel, said: “We have staged events in Singapore three times in recent years and we are very honored with this prestigious prize.”

In 2001, Akzo Nobel was presented with an Associate honor in recognition of its contribution to the arts in Singapore, when the company staged a Young Talent event on the island.
