Indian chemical company Centak Chemicals has officially changed its name to Akzo Nobel Chemicals (India) Ltd.
Centak was previously a joint-venture owned by Akzo Nobel and the B.K. Birla Group, but Akzo Nobel acquired 95.85 percent of the shares earlier this year andthe name change reflects the new ownership.
A major supplier to the Indian polymer chemicals industry for the last decade, the business has now become a subsidiary company of Akzo Nobel Chemicals International b.v. in the Netherlands.
An official ceremony was held recently when all major customers of the Indian polymer industry were present, along with Arend-Jan Kortenhorst, President of Akzo Nobel Polymer Chemicals.
