New Training Center Opened in Portugal

Akzo Nobel’s Car Refinishes business has opened a new Training Center (CRIC) at its facility in Carregado, Portugal, bringing the number of CRICs worldwide to 60.

The inauguration ceremony took place at Akzo Nobel's Portuguese service center, located in Lisbon, when important customers, motor manufacturers and journalists were in attendance.

"Our objective is to consolidate our strategy in Portugal," said Juan Ortega, south regional manager for Car Refinishes. "Portugal is a strategic market for us and this Training Center will make an important contribution towards strengthening our growth in Portugal."

Added marketing manager Silvia Fradera: "Sikkens Autoclear WB is the first waterborne clearcoat in the market and it's the last step to having a full waterborne system. Akzo Nobel CR has again shown that it's a technology leader and the only company to offer a complete waterborne system.”

The 60 CRICs—which are also located in countries such as Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, India, Australia, China and Ghana—are responsible for training around 35,000 people every year.
