Success at Automec 2001

Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes South America attracted significant interest at the recent Automec 2001 event.

Held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the International Autoparts and Services Trade Fair is the most important trade exhibition of its kind in South America.

Boasting more than 1,000 exhibitors from 35 countries, more than 60,000 visitors attended the biannual event, where CRSA was promoting three product lines—Sikkens, Wanda and Miluz.

“Despite a market recession, our stand attracted more visitors than previous years,” said Philippe Moens, CRSA general manager. “Our new AAM partners, Volkswagen, Daimler Chrysler and General Motors, among others, visited the stand and praised our technicians and representatives.

“We also took advantage of the automated visitor scan system and created a new database and mailing list with 1,850 potential clients.”

Automec is widely regarded as being South America’s most important event in the automotive market, attracting motor manufacturers, purchasing managers, bodyshop owners and dealership managers.

Added Moens: “Our presence gave us the opportunity to enhance our image, prospect new business and help sanction partnerships with existing customers. In this respect, it was a major success.”
