Company Wins Arts Award

A special award recognizing contributions to Singapore's artistic developement has been presented to Akzo Nobel.

Akzo Nobel has received a special award recognizing the company’s contribution to the arts in Singapore.

The Patron of the Arts Awards are handed out annually by the National Arts Council to honor organizations or individuals who have helped to develop Singapore’s artistic activities.

There are four categories—Patron of the Arts Award, Friend of the Arts Award, Associate of the Arts Award and Distinguished Patron of the Arts Award. Akzo Nobel was presented with an Associate honor.

One of the major contributing factors to the company’s success was the organization of an Akzo Nobel for Young Talent concert which is being staged in Singapore in September next year.

The award was collected on behalf of the company by Michael Woo, Akzo Nobel’s general representative in South East Asia, who received the trophy from Singapore’s Minister for Information and the Arts, Lee Yock Suan.
