Head office staff at Akzo Nobel’s Pulp and Paper Chemicals business—which trades under the name of Eka Chemicals—are preparing to move into new offices in Sweden.
The employees are presently housed on the Bohus site in outdated premises and will move to more modern offices in the center of Gothenburg within the next few months.
“We can now provide the company president and staff with good, purpose-designed premises,” explained Martin Westerlund, site manager at Bohus, who added that the vacated offices will also be rebuilt and redesigned and should be ready for occupation during the third quarter.
“From a management perspective this move is logical,” continued Ulf Liljestrand, head of business development at Eka Chemicals. “The Bohus factory is one of only 60 sites Eka Chemicals operates around the world and the geographical position of our new head office is not expected to effect cooperation with SBU or site organizations.”
A total of 25 staff will move to the new Gothenburg offices, which are located in a tall red and white building locals refer to as “The Lipstick.”
