Akzo Nobel and Seppic reach agreement on sale of Dianol business

Air Liquide is a global producer of industrial and medical gases, which employs over 28,000 people in 60 countries.

It posted annual sales of FRF 39.9 billion (USD 6.8 billion) in 1998. Sales outside France accounted for 75%. Air Liquide supplies oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and many other gases to such varied industries as steel/iron, refining, chemicals, glass, electronics, paper pulp, metallurgy, food-processing, healthcare and aerospace. By combining new technologies and services, Air Liquide develops gas solutions that improve industrial performance and help protect the environment. Seppic is currently constructing a new manufacturing unit for bis-phenol A derivatives in Antwerp, Belgium, which is expected to be completed at the end of this year. The purchase of the Akzo Nobel business is an important step by Seppic to strengthen its range of specialty polyols.
