Donation Supports Lecture Series

An African company which manufactures Akzo Nobel coatings products has made a donation towards the resumed staging of a lecture series in Ghana.

An African company which represents Akzo Nobel in Ghana has made a donation towards the resumed staging of a one-day lecture series.

Bamson Company Limited, the local representatives of Sikkens car refinish paints and Sandtex decorative masonry products, has donated EUR 1,000 towards this year’s Ohene Djan Memorial Lectures.

The lectures—held in honor of the late sports administrator—are being resumed after a ten-year break in an effort to halt a slump in the country’s sports.

The fifth staging of the event is being held on June 5, when Dr Kwamina Obo Quansah, a medical practitioner and a keen sports analyst and administrator, will give a lecture under the banner The Man Ohene Djan—His Relevance to Contemporary Sports Promotion and Development.

Bamson Company has been associated with the lecture series since its inception and managing director Kwame Ofosu Bamfo said he was delighted to be associated with its resumption.

The donation follows another recent award by Bamson Company. EUR 2,000 was presented to the Kumasi Technical Institute last month to help pay for the refurbishment of a spraying booth at its auto body workshop.
