Akzo Nobel’s Cross-linking Peroxides (ANCP) plant in Ningbo, China, has won an environmental honor for the second year in a row.
The site recently received the 2005 Green Enterprise in Environmental Performance Award, which is sponsored by the local Environmental Protection Bureau, to follow on from similar success in 2004.
The award scheme assesses the environmental behavior of 70 plants during the year, with the results being rated using a system of colors—green representing the best level of performance. Standards are measured in a number of categories, including waste treatment, emissions to air and process technology.
Acquired by Akzo Nobel in 2000, the facility produces chemicals used in the manufacturing of shoe wear, electrical cables, packaging and insulation materials.
